I'm testing out the functionality of a Sprint wireless data card for a project I'm working on, and I'm pretty impressed so far. The speeds aren't that great, but better overall than dial-up.
The coolest part is I'm currently traveling about 74 miles per hour down Interstate 64 while typing this. No, don't worry, Rachel's driving.
The card is working really well for classic email and web based interaction. Graphics intensive sites are slower, obviously, but overall no complaints.
The really cool part is that something came up that I had to take care of as soon as I got too far away from the house to head back and take care of it. So, I opened an SSH tunnel to the house, port forwarded Remote desktop to a system in a colo, logged in, opened another remote destop to a different system in the colo network, and took care of things. Moving 70mph down the road leaving the state.
Something about that makes me want to say "that's just wrong." But it worked!
